GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

These General Terms and Conditions of sale define the obligations between the Institut de Français Nice and each of its students.

1. ENROLLMENT
The enrollment in our program means accepting these general Terms and Conditions. The city court of Nice is authorized for all disputes arising from these present rules. Every enrollment must be made beforehand using the online form available on the website. The age required for every enrollment is 16 years old minimum (with parental permission for minors students). The English language is used on the first day to give all explanations of the program and thus a sufficient level of comprehension is therefore required.
2. IMAGE REPRODUCTION RIGHTS
All students give authorization to the Institut de Français Nice to use their testimonies, photos or videos which may have been taken during the classes or activities, for promotional purposes (brochure, website, social networks). Accepting our General Terms and Conditions during the enrollment implies accepting the use of these photos and videos, without a limit of time and without any financial compensation. If you oppose the use of your photo or video, you must inform us by email, no later than the first day of the session.
3. OPENING HOURS
The Institut de Français Nice is open from Monday to Friday, from 9am to 4:30pm. The Institut de Français Nice is closed during the weekend and does not provide telephone permanence outside of these hours. Access to the school is forbidden outside of these hours.
4. PUBLIC HOLIDAYS
The Institut de Français Nice is open on all public holidays, except from May 1st, December 25th and January 1st. For the sessions concerned, classes will not take place on those days.
5. PAYMENT
No reservation will be guaranteed until we receive the advance payment. The reservation will be confirmed upon receipt of the advance payment (1/3 of the balance due) to be paid before within 3 days upon receipth of your application form. The balance on the tuition fee is due before the start of the session. The payments must be made in Euros, by bank transfer, PayPal or credit card (after receipt of a payment link). When making your wire transfer, please make sure to indicate a reference by adding the name of the student. Please note that the bank charges for transfers are not at the school expense.
6. CANCELLATION & DEPOSIT POLICY

To confirm enrollment, a deposit corresponding to 30% of the total course fees is required. This deposit secures the participant’s place in the selected session and allows us to prepare each program with the utmost care and attention.

Cancellation more than fifteen (15) days before the course start date

Should a participant need to cancel more than fifteen (15) days prior to the course start date, the deposit will be refunded, less the €200 registration fee. The registration fee covers administrative processing and course reservation costs and is therefore non-refundable.

Cancellation within fifteen (15) days of the course start date and no-show

We understand that plans may occasionally change, and we remain committed to offering flexibility while ensuring the integrity and preparation of each session. Therefore, in the event of cancellation or modification of the session dates fewer than fifteen (15) days before the start of the session, the deposit is non-refundable. However, it remains fully transferable and may be applied toward a future session within three (3) years of the original start date, subject to availability.

Absence and early departure from the program

Any absence from the program is strongly advised against and any part missed (due to professional reasons or sickness) is neither refundable nor reprogrammable. Homework can however be given upon request to help catch-up from the absence. In case of an early departure from the program whatever the reason may be, the participant cannot claim a refund nor a credit.

7. BEHAVIOUR
We reserve the right to exclude any students in case of any inappropriate behaviour, acts of violence, emotional, moral or physical disability of the person (handicap) that has not been specified in advance. This exclusion does not open the right to a refund.
8. RESPONSIBILITY OF THE ORGANIZER
The Institut de Français Nice reserves the right to modify without prior notice its services due to circumstances beyond its control (strikes, epidemics, natural disasters or another force majeure). If the Institut de Français Nice is obliged to cancel all or one part of its obligations, the participants could complete their enrollment in a later session. Pedagogical responsibility: The Institut de Français Nice will implement its experience and teaching method to help the participant reach their objectives but being the teaching of a foreign language, the client is responsible for the efficacy of their results.
9. INSURANCE
Each student must be insured against health risks, accidents and civil responsibility. Students are highly recommended to take a personal insurance for stay, cancellation or interruption and repatriation. These insurances are at the charge of the student. Nationals from the EEC must bring their European health insurance card which insures a special coverage during their stay abroad. In case of a health problem on-site, we can contact and make an appointment with a doctor and if necessary, call the emergency services and organize a transfer to the CHU in Nice. Note that personal belongings, suitcases, items, vehicles and valuable objects are not guaranteed against theft, loss or damages, whatever the cause might be. The parties agree thus that the Institut de Français Nice cannot be implicated with this subject and it is up to the student to contact all the insurances as they judge necessary to guarantee their personal belongings and properties at their disposal. In the case of minor students, their parents or legal guardians shall assume all legal liability on their behalf and shall take out full insurance necessary on behalf of such minors.
